I made it sound like he was a giant fucking failure, I guess. Maybe because I'd like to think he was just some asshole like me and I can safely hate him. But the truth is, what they did to him, the fact that they erased him completely from history, means they were afraid of him. Her fucking Imperious Condescension was actually afraid of him. That's something, Jade! The highbloods wipe out lowblood uprisings as often and probably more easily than they wipe their own asses.

And I'm supposed to be him? I'm nothing. All I've ever done is yell and run away and cower like a wiggler whenever shit goes down. How can I possibly talk to him? Especially if he's my fucking ancestor or something. I mean, if I hate myself now, imagine how much I'd hate an infinitely worse version of myself, if it was possible for that to exist.
